Tony has worked in the City since 1964. He has a wealth of experience gained at Chief Executive level in the marketing and execution functions of stockbroking, fund management and life assurance companies and has provided expert witness services to a number of legal firms.  Tony brings an up-to-date approach to legislative and best practice issues.

In addition, Tony is frequently invited to contribute to a variety of media programmes and makes regular appearances on a number of well-known television and radio programmes including BBC, Sky and specialist financial broadcasts.

Tony’s detailed industry knowledge, communication skills and high profile are all used to clients’ advantage when preparing and presenting expert witness testimony or during the mediation process.

Len Oram

Len Oram has been involved in the financial services industry since 1968.  He is FSA registered and is currently active in asset management. He has extensive experience in asset management, life and pensions, stockbroking and the legal profession, having been a director of a number of leading companies.

Len has a solid grounding in stockbroking administrative services, dealing, arbitrage and portfolio management. In the field of life and pensions he has benefited from working closely with actuaries and tax barristers, whilst acquiring valuable experience and knowledge of industry products.

More recently Len was a senior member of the team that successfully developed the Financial Services subsidiary of a prominent firm of UK solicitors. He also has in-depth knowledge of the securities class actions business and has developed strong connections with the leading US law firms involved in this specialist area.

Len brings to SMEW a broad range of expertise and skills in the financial services industry and a global network of contacts.

John Piper FCA ATII MSTA HbT

John is a qualified accountant who has been involved in Investment/Trading since 1971 and advising on investments since 1975.  His detailed knowledge of technical analysis has been gained over 25 years of unique trading experience, particularly in futures and options. 

John is an associate member of the Society of Technical Analysts in the UK and is FSA registered.

Joyce Armitage

Joyce has senior management experience of the strategy, resource, management information, operations and administration functions of multi-national financial institutions, gained during a 22 year career with US investment banks.

She has significant expertise in the areas of business re-engineering, project and resource management, logistics and mediation.

Joyce’s early career was spent in marketing and public relations and she has a degree in Business Studies.  She performs the Company Secretary function at Square Mile Expert Witness.
